Historical Society Program on “The DuBois, Nieukirk, & Van Meter Families of Salem County”
The Greater Elmer Area Historical Society will host a program on the DuBois, Nieukirk, & Van Meter Families of Salem County on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at 6:30pm at the Society’s museum, 117 Broad Street, Elmer NJ. The program is free and open to the public.

The presenter for the meeting will be Bonny Beth Elwell, President of GEAHS. She will share the early history of these Dutch and French Huguenot families and their journeys from Europe to New York, New Jersey, and elsewhere during the 17th & 18th centuries. These pioneers were founding families of New Paltz, NY; Daretown, NJ; the Pittsgrove Presbyterian Church; and the South Branch Potomac River Valley in VA & WV. Like many residents of Elmer, Pittsgrove, and Upper Pittsgrove, the speaker is a direct descendant of these three families.
